Use A Variety Of Lures

Some freshwater fish have a food preference and will only bite or hit on certain types of bait. You will need to use several different types of bait to find which one works on the body of water you are fishing and the type of fish you wish to catch.

Move Around

If you don’t have any luck in one location move to another one. Freshwater fish can be found at different depths and also like to hide under fallen trees and other submerged objects. Be careful not to get your line caught when fishing near such things.

Try A Boat

Sometimes you just can't get your line out far enough to catch any fish. If you have a boat you can get to different areas of a lake or pond much easier and may have better luck finding a good amount of fish.

How to Improve Your Drawing Skills

Drawing is a great way to relax and put on paper the images that are in your imagination. Drawing is a skill that needs to be developed if you want to become an artist. Here are a couple of suggestions how you can improve your drawing skills.

Draw a Lot

Malcolm Gladwell, a Canadian journalist, bestselling author and speaker, said that it takes about 10,000 hours of doing something to become an expert at it. So when it comes to drawing, you have to draw a lot. The more you draw, the better you become. Do not rush it, but spend time developing your drawing skills by drawing more and more.

Slow and Steady

Learn to take it slow when you are drawing. This rule is vital especially when you are learning to do cleanups with either a crow quill, pencil or brush. In a way, it is like playing a musical instrument, start slowly and play without mistake. Go slow with your drawing and you will have fewer mistakes.

Learn from the Experts

There is just so much you can learn yourself, but by watching an expert draw, you can pick up valuable tips and techniques. Find artists who live nearby or those who offers online classes and learn from how they draw. You will be surprised how much you can learn by just watching an experienced artist draw. You can ask questions, and they will gladly help you.

Jacob Vanderwal Kent Michigan took up drawing in school and has drawn several beautiful pictures.

Jacob Vanderwal Kent Michigan - Three Keys to Becoming a Better Runner

Running is a great way to burn calories and get a good cardio workout. Whether you are training for a marathon or just starting out with running, a couple of tips can help you become a better runner. Of course, you won’t become a better runner overnight, so it is best to hang in there, and sooner or later you will see the difference in the way you run.

Eat the Right Foods

Just because you are running and burning off the calories, it does not mean that you can eat cheeseburgers, chips, pizzas, and guzzle down a can of Coke. Foods high in carbs and trans fats are not healthy for anyone and should be avoided at all costs. Running causes inflammation in the body, and eating highly processed foods will only increase inflammation, leading to other problems. Eat a balanced meal with lots of vegetables, limited protein, and good fats, and it will improve your running.

Water

When you run, the body uses up water at a much faster rate, so keeping your body hydrated is very important. However, you must ensure your body is hydrated long before you start running. If you are running a marathon, it is important to drink a lot of water the previous day of the race to keep your body well-hydrated.

Strength Training

Strength training is not bodybuilding and will not make you bulky. Strength training helps keep the body healthy and keeps you safe from running injuries. Simple body weight exercises like pushups, planking and sit-ups can help build your strength and make you a better runner.

Jacob Vanderwal of Kent Michigan is a college student and runs to keep fit.
